Fahmil Khan Feat. Faraz Ahmed (On Flute) and Mitesh Kenkare (On Percussion)
An electronics engineer turned self-trained vocalist and guitarist, Fahmil Khan has always been inspired by and passionate about music. A soulful voice, a versatile range, melodic performances and a commanding stage presence are his hallmarks that unfailingly captivate audiences wherever he performs.
Currently the lead vocalist and guitarist of his band, ‘On the Rocks’, his repertoire includes Pop, Sufi, retro and contemporary Bollywood songs.
Fahmil’s live performances began as intimate ‘Unplugged Wednesday’ jam sessions in coffee shops around UAE in 2015. Today, he performs regularly at popular hangouts in Dubai including Headlines, Bar Baar, Hitchki, C-House, Milano, Illuzions and Tanatan where he has earned a loyal fan base of listeners.
Small gigs have grown into private shows at sold out venues not only across the UAE but India, Thailand and Cambodia as well.
Earlier this year, he had the honour of opening for Bollywood’s leading music director duo Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani. He has performed for the legendary Ghulam Ali and shared the stage with popular artists in the Indian music industry including Gopi Sunder, Deepak Dev, A.R Rahman’s lead guitarist Keba Jeremiah, and Sana Moidutty.
His other accomplishments include being associated with the music launch of Baahubali 2 in Dubai, performing with his band at Dubai’s prestigious ‘Sikka Art Fair’ and being invited to open for this year’s edition of the renowned UAE Bridal show. He also rocked the World’s first Bollywood Cruise Party aboard Jalesh Cruises where he played alongside some of the World’s best known DJs.
Fahmil’s orginal composition ‘Oye Rabba’ was released on Zee Tv’s Music Garage Season 1 while his cover version of ‘Dhadak’ was launched by Zee Music in the Middle East.
Currently working on new releases for the upcoming months, he has his sights set on playback singing for the Indian film industry. He knows it’s a big dream but for someone who’s lived and breathed music for as long as he can remember, he knows it’s one he’ll make come true.
